In Search of the Truth

Are you 100% sure you will spend eternity in heaven?  The Bible indicates that we can know for sure.  In 1 John 5:13 it reads: "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

What had John written that we might know we have eternal life?  In verses 10-12 he had just written this: 10 "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."  Eternal life is found in a PERSON.  His name is Jesus.  If you have received Jesus as your Savior, you have eternal life.  If you have not received Him as your Savior, you do not have eternal life.

How can I receive Him?  It is as easy as A-B-C.

A. You need to admit that you are a sinner.  The Bible says in Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"  We are all in the same boat, we are all sinners.

B. We need to believe that Jesus died for our sins, and then rose from the dead.  Romans 10:9-10 says: "9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

C. We need to call upon Him through prayer and ask Him to save us.  In Hebrews 7:25 it says: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."  Jesus rose from the dead and can hear and answer our prayers.  Romans 10:13 says: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  If you have never called upon Jesus in prayer and asked Him to save you, wouldn't you like to do that today?

Eternal life may be just a prayer away.  I'm going to ask you to say a simple prayer.  There is no magic in the words.  Think about the words, and don't say them if you don't mean them.  We have sinned against a Holy God.  We need His forgiveness.  Forgiveness can be found by trusting in what Jesus did for you when He died on the cross.  Won't you say this simple prayer right now?

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner.  I believe that you died for me.  Please forgive me of my sin.  Please come into my heart and save me.  Thank you for saving me.  Help me to live for you now.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen."

Did you say that prayer?  Did you mean it?  If you have received Jesus as your Savior, He wants to be your constant friend and guide through the rest of your life, and throughout eternity.  You can talk to Him through prayer at any time.  He wants to talk to you.  He speaks to us through His Word, the Bible.  He wants us to tell others about Him.  God bless you as you begin your new life in Christ.  We would love to hear from you, and help you in any way we can.  Please contact us and let us know of your decision.
